Marsh Planting with BARC and RBG

The Bay Area Restoration Council and Royal Botanical Gardens are once again looking for volunteers to help replant Cootes Paradise.

Our 2015 Marsh Volunteer Planting Program will run on the following dates:

  • Saturday, July 11
  • Tuesday, July 14
  • Saturday, July 18
  • Thursday, July 23

All events start at 9am and will be over before noon.

Space is limited to 10 people per date, and the spaces are filled on a first come first serve basis.  Please register by responding to this email.

Please note the following:

  • Quote "Marsh Planting 2015" in the subject line of your email
  • Indicate the date(s) you wish to attend (maximum of two dates please)
  • You will need hip waders – if you do not have any please state your shoe size and BARC will provide hip waders for you

A BARC staff member will reply within a few business days to confirm your space.

Due to the nature and location of the planting sites, these events are not suitable for children.  You must be at least 16 years old to participate (an adult will need to sign a waiver for you if you are under the age of 18).  Planting sites are located in the marsh and a certain level of physical fitness is required.  Please be aware that we are walking into a natural environment – you will get wet and dirty and leeches occasionally make an appearance.  It is messy but rewarding work!
