“Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, they are created by everybody.” – Jane Jacobs
We live in an increasingly urban world and where we live affects our health, environment and economy. Complete Streets help to develop vibrant and diverse places that people will want to live and stay in; healthier and more sustainable cities for future generations to enjoy. Join people from your neighbourhood to participate in a hands on interactive workshop of urban planning and design. You will be able to re-envision the streets in various Hamilton neighbourhoods through the use of maps and street elements such as bike lanes, green spaces, park benches and SoBi stations. At this workshop, Virtual Hamilton will pilot their 3D interactive environment that will enable you to experience your re-envisioned street in a virtual world. Imagine! You will take away key ideas and proposed actions on how to implement complete streets in your community and help make Hamilton a more vibrant place to live, work. and play.
Hamilton SPN fosters innovation in the community with support from the We Are Cities: Community Innovation Grant and the McMaster’s Network for Community-Campus Partnerships. In collaboration with McMaster University and Virtual Hamilton.
This is a free event, but registration is required.
