Re-Imagine EcoHouse

Calling all McMaster Students! Do grey water systems, composting toilets, and green roofs excite you? Green Venture is partnering with the Hamilton Sustainability Professionals Network with support from the McMaster Community-Campus Catalyst Grant to host an interactive tour and workshop at Green Venture's EcoHouse. After the workshop all participants will have the opportunity to submit an idea for an innovative EcoHouse display. The winner will receive funding to design and implement their submission at Green Venture. This is your chance to put your ideas into action!

Green Venture created the EcoHouse to demonstrate innovations in green building and design. Touring the EcoHouse, you will get to see how low-flow toilets actually work, how different styles of rain barrels operate, and experience the magic of vermi composting right before your eyes, learn about our green roof, community garden, solar panels and hybrid community carshare.

Students will be transported via a chartered HSR bus. Location pick up to be confirmed. As part of the journey from McMaster to the east Hamilton site, participants will also receive a Totally Transit presentation on accessing Hamilton’ s public transit system.

McMaster participants can choose to modify an already existing display or come up with a brand new display to promote sustainability and/or environmental initiatives.

The winner will receive a grand prize and have a spending budget to create the idea and have it installed at EcoHouse.

The workshop is FREE to attend and includes transportation and light snacks. Please RSVP through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/re-imagine-ecohouse-tickets-38583420048?aff=efbeventtix
